Business Resources: Illinois HR Excellence Program

The Illinois HR Excellence Certificate Program will enable you to enhance your Human Resource knowledge and strengthen your leadership skills to better serve your organization and your customers.  In addition to enhancing your knowledge and skills, you will develop a network of corporate contacts with faculty of the University of Illinois and staff of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce who are vested in further developing your HR knowledge and abilities throughout your career.  More knowledgeable HR practitioners will lead to greater employee engagement and increased organizational success, ensuring that Illinois a great place to live, work and do business.

Created by experts in HR management education and business operations:

• Illinois Chamber of Commerce: The Illinois Chamber is the state’s oldest, largest, broad-based business advocacy group providing quality compliance products and a variety of membership services for employers. The Chamber advocates on behalf of Illinois business with the Illinois legislature and other governmental agencies.

How do I complete this program?

You may earn the comprehensive Illinois HR Certificate by completing the four subject-specific certificates.  You may also select to complete the subject specific certificates separately.  The four subject certificates are:

• ·Benefits and Compensation
• Training,  Development, and Staffing
• Dispute Resolution, Workplace Regulation, and Employment Law
• Leadership and Strategic HRM

Workshops are held in convenient locations in Chicago, Springfield, Naperville, and Champaign-Urbana. The Illinois HR Excellence subject-specific certificates are designed to offer targeted subject matter knowledge.  The Certificates are designed to give both you and your employer a good return on investment.   Each workshop has an applied homework assignment that requires the participant to address a work-related issue applying the new knowledge gained from the workshop and thereby better retaining the principles learned in the classroom.

This is an opportunity for you and your employer to grow. Employers pay consultants big fees to evaluate, recommend and solve HR issues. An Illinois HR Excellence certificate will allow you to apply your new skill set and save your employer those high consulting fees.
